The American Institute locations in Clifton, NJ, Somerset, NJ, Toms River, NJ, and West Hartford, CT, are accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). Effective December 12, 2016, ACICS was no longer recognized by the Department of Education as a national accreditation agency. This does not have any effect on students until June 12, 2018. American Institute has a period of 18 months to obtain new accreditation with another agency that is recognized by the Department of Education in order to continue to provide Federal Title IV funds to students, and is actively pursuing a resolution that will ensure uninterrupted training for our students. American Institute is confident that it will obtain the necessary accreditation in time, so there will be no interruption in the training of our students. If American Institute does not obtain accreditation by June 12, 2018, the institution will no longer be eligible to receive Federal Title IV funds.
