American Institute School of Health Careers “Goes Red”

Lauderdale Lakes, FL – On Thursday February 10, 2011 the students, staff and faculty at American Institute School of Health Careers will “go red”.  The entire campus is invited to spend the day remembering the women who lost their lives or are struggling from heart diseases by wearing red for the day.

Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association’s solution to save women’s lives. With one out of three women still dying from heart disease, they are committed to fighting this No. 1 killer that is largely preventable. GoRedForWomen.org is a source of information and education that connects millions of women of all ages and gives them tangible resources to turn personal choices into life-saving actions.

Richard McCulloch, Campus President of American Institute School of Health Careers said, “Our student population is predominately female, so understanding the dangers of heart disease is very important to their daily health.  Events like this one help us to have camaraderie on campus while we educate our students about the deadliest disease that affects women.  I know I will be wearing red in support of all of the important females in my life.”

Randy Proto, CEO of American Institute added, “Wearing red for heart health will help spread the word in our community about the dangers of heart disease in women.  As our students prepare for careers in medical fields understanding the danger that heart disease poses to women is vital to their success.  After all, the disease is taking the life of one in three women which is almost one woman every minute.  These are staggering statistics that make paying attention to heart disease very important.  It’s good to know our students, staff and faculty are already paying attention by wearing red.”
